Strategies, Programs and Resources to Prevent Truancy

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), in conjunction with the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools (OSDFS), U.S. Department of Education, is pleased to announce the satellite and Internet videoconference “Strategies, Programs and Resources To Prevent Truancy,” which will air February 23, 2005, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. EST.
The videoconference will provide an overview of the truancy issues addressed in the December 2004 conference cosponsored by OJJDP and OSDFS, “Partnering To Prevent Truancy: A National Priority,” and will showcase several promising, evidence-based program approaches to truancy and related issues presented at the conference. The importance of new resources, including a truancy Web site, will be emphasized, as will the ongoing commitment of OJJDP and OSDFS to the issue of truancy prevention, intervention, and reduction.
Broadcast Objectives
