I can see everyone's point about how metal detectors are not the answer.
But, at the same time, it isn't okay just to ignore the problem of school
violence. Yes, we, as students have rights to our privacy, but safety should
come first, at whatever expense necessary. These problems are NOT just going
to go away, if continue to ignore them and fail to take proper measures, it is
only going to get worse. I do agree that children need positive parental influence
and that support groups are needed. However, I think that metal detectors could be an
option to accompany these changes. Just a few thoughts.
