I beilieve that you are wrong in thinking that all alarms and detector instill fear. I am a 16 year old junior in highschool. I personally don't feel safe in my school purely because we don't have any type of metal detectors, granted we have police officers on campus. This is the second high school that I have attended due to constant transfers form the military. I have been in situations where I have to leave the school for bomb threats, I have experienced fights with weapons, I even had a friend killed for no apparent reason. These are scenarios where we need some type of security and to post a message such as the one you did shows your complete ignorance of the changing world. If I am 16 and I can see the problems and see what needs to change then you should be able to also.: Cameras and metal detectors have no benifits being placed in our childrens schools. They just instill a sense of fear for their safety. Students are not able to learn when they are in fear and that should be the primary responsibility of our schools. Teachers, students, parents, and administrators need to develop as well as work together at taking back their schools.
