The White House Conference on "School Safety"  October 15, 1998 

Broadcast Overview 
[1998's] string of tragic violent incidents refocused the American public's attention on school crime and safety. Many programs and strategies that can reduce or prevent violence in schools have been identified. The White House Conference on School Safety and the Satellite videoconference examined some of these models and provide information for communities to take immediate measures to increase school safety. School staff, students, parents, juvenile justice authorities, youth servicing agency personnel, business leaders and others can each contribute in specific ways. Schools and communities are encouraged to pull their resources together through a collaborative, long-term prevention/intervention process.
